ROAD TOWN, Tortola, British Virgin Islands – 21 October, 2024 – Bitfinex (https://www.bitfinex.com), a premier digital asset trading platform, announced today that it will be among the first exchanges to list SCR, the native token of Scroll, a layer-2 scaling solution built on Ethereum.
Scroll, an Ethereum-compatible Layer 2 network, leverages zero-knowledge (ZK) technology to deliver lower transaction costs and faster speeds while preserving Ethereum’s security. Founded in 2021 with a stated mission to “scale Ethereum,” Scroll has fostered grassroots development by keeping its technology open-source, allowing the Ethereum community to contribute voluntarily. Upon launching its mainnet in October 2023, Scroll reported impressive testnet results: over 450,000 smart contracts deployed, more than 90 million transactions processed, and an average of 305,000 daily transactions over 15 months.

Deposits for SCR are expected to open at approximately 12:00 PM UTC on 21 October, 2024, subject to network conditions. Trading is planned to commence at approximately 08:00 AM UTC on 22 October 2024, contingent upon liquidity requirements being met. SCR will be tradable against US Dollars (SCR/USD) and Tether tokens (SCR/USDt).
